Crisis Mapping from Home- the new disaster relief.

From his apartment in Massachusetts Patrick Meier was able to coordinate the disaster relief effort of the 2010 Haiti earthquake. Using a network of information collected from volunteers and sent via SMS, tweet, e-mail, news reports and photos he and his team were able to put together an interactive crisis map to assist agencies on the ground co-ordinate their efforts.
